Hamilton and NebraskaLink Expand Fiber Network in Grand Island

August 12, 2014 Grand Island, Neb. — Hamilton Telecommunications and NebraskaLink, two Nebraska-based technology and telecommunications providers, announced an expansion of their combined fiber optic infrastructure and network throughout the city of Grand Island.

Hamilton and NebraskaLink have buried a combined 46 miles of fiber within the Grand Island city limits available for business and enterprise broadband access needs. This includes fiber located along the major outlying roads of Hwy 34, Hwy 281, Central Community College and Gunbarrel, as well as along many of Grand Island’s Industrial and Business-Developed streets. “Grand Island is an innovative and growing city with businesses that need reliable broadband access solutions,” said Jay Anderson, NebraskaLink Account Executive. “NebraskaLink is proud to provide a redundant, reliable fiber optic network, which along with Hamilton’s business expertise, delivers critical business solutions to the community.”

The expanded fiber optic network allows Hamilton to deliver redundant, scalable and highly available business solutions to meet the broadband access and data transport needs of Grand Island businesses. “Hamilton has long been in the business of ensuring our customers’ data is optimally managed,” said Ryan Wineteer, Head of Sales & Business Development for Hamilton Telecommunications. “Now that Broadband and Data management have become so vital to business operations, businesses need an Internet partner that can deliver a full host of broadband and data hosting solutions. Partnering with NebraskaLink allows us to pair our data center with a secured fiber optic solution providing even more reliable and secure solutions, on the whole. We want our customers to be able to focus on their business, knowing their business data needs are being handled.”

“Having a widely available fiber optic network is key to the success of Grand Island businesses,” said Grand Island Area of Economic Development President, Randy Gard. “We are excited for the opportunities this brings to the city in terms of allowing existing businesses to expand operations and attracting new businesses to the area.”
