October 9, 2014 Lincoln, Neb. — The NebraskaLink Board of Directors announced they have selected Mark Shaw as Chief Executive Officer of NebraskaLink, the Nebraska-based Broadband transport service provider for businesses. As the Director of Business Development/ Carrier Sales for NebraskaLink since 2011, Mark began serving as Interim CEO in May and assumed his new role on August 15th, 2014.
“Mark was selected because of his demonstrated ability to lead and his extensive knowledge of Telecommunications, fiber-optic infrastructure and data transport networks,” said Gary Warren, Chairman of the NebraskaLink Board of Directors.
“I am honored to have been extended the opportunity to serve as CEO by the Board of Directors,” said Shaw. “I am excited to be part of this innovative company with a focused mission toward promoting economic growth across the state of Nebraska through the development of a state-wide fiber-optic network.”
As former Director of Business Development, Mark worked to develop the Wholesale division for NebraskaLink which included developing comprehensive and competitive pricing structures, and developing processes, procedures and controls for the company. Mark began his Telecommunications career more than 22 years ago as Data Communications Specialist, while serving in the United States Air Force. Since then, he has worked for both national and statewide carriers which included MCI, Cable and Wireless USA, and SDN Communications. In these roles he earned experience in network deployment and optimization, development and implementation of back office systems, process design and improvement, regulatory certifications, price management, and sales.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Capella University and holds Certifications in both Pricing and Project Management. As CEO of NebraskaLink, Mark Shaw is responsible for the company’s overall operations and performance.
